What is a Physical 2FA Passkey?

Interview with the owner of Nitrokey.

Recently, I interviewed Jan Suhr, an expert on cyber-security. In the class, we discussed different important security practices that are essential for protecting yourself online.

This class is designed for all-levels of tech users, even if you are a complete tech beginner.

I really recommend that you take your security seriously.

I receive messages all the time from people who have been hacked. Many people end up losing their life savings in the blink of an eye, and can not get it back. It's really sad to see.

When it comes to hacks and scams, you do not want to wait until it happens and then find a "cure". This is an aspect of life where you need to focus on prevention.

There are many aspects that go into locking down your accounts properly. First, you need strong and unique passwords for each account. Second, you should use a form of 2 Factor Authentication. This could be apps like Ente Auth.

You can take it a step even further by getting a physical passkey. These passkeys are similar to having a key for a door. When you plug the device into your computer, it will unlock certain digital accounts for you. I really recommend these for high-level security items like your bank accounts.

These may not be for everyone. You need to assess what level of security you want, but I do recommend having one. (I use them myself).

If you were interested in getting a physical passkey, I have partnered up with Nitrokey to create a special offer for you. If you order any Nitrokey from this page, I will hold a special training for you teaching you how to use it.

And if you get three different passkeys, (Which I recommend, because you do not want to lose one and lose access to your account), then Nitrokey will also include a free USB secure datablocker). All you have to do is enter the code: PRIVACYACADEMY at checkout with three Nitrokeys and a Secure Data blocker in your cart and it will work!

You can get your passkeys here.

Like I said, these are not for everyone. But I do recommend them, especially if you want to ensure a high level of security for your accounts.

Thank you!
